If you’re looking for tranquility and style by the sea, Casa Vermelha Guest House is the ideal choice. This elegant property is located on the deserted beach of Pacuíba in Ilhabela’s north. It’s a 35-minute drive from the ferryboat terminal. You’ll definitely need a car if you’re staying here, but it’s well worth the drive! Adriana and Paulo are gracious hosts who will make you feel right at home.

Casa Vermelha Guest House feels intimate, with only four uniquely-decorated suites available. It’s like a slice of Trancoso has been transported to Ilhabela. The property’s architect hails from Trancoso and you can see the Bahian influences in the property’s dark timber features and bright splashes of colour. The pousada also has its own private slither of beach and a jetty perfect for plunging straight into the sea.

All rooms have balconies facing the sea and the pousada’s lush gardens. Expect spacious rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and timber shutters, large, comfy beds with premium bedding, upscale toiletries and bright, inviting decor designed to make you exhale. Both the Amarela (Yellow) and Verde (Green) suites have queen sized beds, the Rosa (Pink) suite has a king size bed and the Náutica suite is the best in the house, with a super-king size bed as well as a spacious living room area.
