Tucked away in a sleepy, sandy laneway in the village of Jericoacoara lies this Pousada Araxá. This tranquil little enclave features 15 breezy, stylish apartments built around lawn, gardens and an outdoor pool. Some suites feature rooftop jacuzzis with views across to the sunset dune.

Expect a warm welcome from the Italian owner, Federica. Her homeland’s influence is visible in the refined wood-fired pizzas dished up in the on-site restaurant.

Staff are on hand to organise massage treatments, kitesurfing and windsurfing lessons. Book a dune buggy tour to explore the nearby lakes and dunes.

The pousada is centrally located, but also just on the edge of the village, allowing for beautiful views across to the dune and a more relaxed vibe.

Double suites start at R$500 per night during low season (April – November) and R$660 per night during high season (December – March) with a 4-night minimum stay.
