Pousada Paraíso da Barra is a rustic chic, beachfront pousada, just a stone’s throw from the heart of the Barra Grande village.

The pousada is comprised of 25 chalets set amidst tropical gardens which feature two swimming pools (one for adults, one for children). There’s also a funky beach bar and a breezy restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating.

Bungalows cater for double, triple and quadruple occupancy. While the chalets’ decor is unfussy, the shimmering sea views from the verandah certainly make up for that. Here you can wake up to the sounds of the sea almost lapping at the door. Enjoy a buffet breakfast in the sunshine and make your way to the beach, where you can sit in shaded bars, sip cocktails and enjoy fresh seafood, while you watch the kitesurfers work their magic on the horizon.

There’s free parking, but once you arrive, you won’t need wheels. Everything you want in Barra Grande is within walking distance. Expect all the modern conveniences, like Wi-Fi, air conditioning and cable TV, as well as feeling immersed in nature. There’s nothing falling asleep to the sound of the sea, and samba floating by on strong coastal breezes.
