Room Details

Terra Patrís is a charming, rustic-chic oasis fronting onto Barra Grande beach. This stylish enclave offers just 6 suites, built around a sunny pool area and breezy bar.

The owners, Nathalia and Marco Felix, are originally from Campinas in São Paulo. They visited Barra Grande on vacation back in 2010 and fell in love with the place. The rest, as they say, is history. Their philosophy is to ensure guests feel right at home, and that they can enjoy the peace and tranquility of Barra Grande. Therefore the hotel only accepts guests aged 12 years and over. So if you want to spend the day by the pool, you won’t have to put up with noisy kids splashing about.

However you can bring your pets with you, but make sure you get prior approval from the pousada before you arrive. Keep in mind the pousada has 2 dogs (Tom and Lady) and 2 cats (Mio and Chita) who live there, so make sure your pets play nicely with others.

Terra Patrís is an eco-friendly pousada with its own 12-metre-high lookout, which offers panoramic views across the village treetops and out to sea. The pool area is quite close to the bungalows, which may account for the adults only rule, to ensure guests don’t have to put up with too much noise. There’s a hearty buffet breakfast each morning, featuring eggs, freshly baked breads and cakes, tapioca and fruit. The beach is just 200 metres away, so close you can almost hear the waves. The bustle of the village is less than 10-minute’s walk away. There’s parking on site if you’re driving. In short, you’ll want for nothing.

Inside the bungalows and suites at Terra Patrís

All the accommodation comes with air conditioning, TVs, minibar and a safe for your valuables. Each bungalow comes with a queen size bed, ideal for couples. If you’re travelling in a larger group, you may opt for the Orange or Lilac mezzanine rooms, which accommodate 4 people – 2 in the double bed downstairs, 2 in the single beds upstairs. There’s also the Wine Room, which has space for 3 guests, either in 3 single beds, or a king size bed and a single. Accommodation is cosy, so there isn’t room for extra beds.

Bungalows have thatched roofs and are on stilts. Facing the swimming pool, they offer balconies with seats and a hammock to relax in. Sliding timber doors block out the sunlight, so you’ll sleep soundly. During the day they open right up to let in the sunshine and the sea breeze.

The Laranja mezzanine room has disabled bathroom facilities. The Lilac room has a lovely patio with your own little patch of garden in which to relax and unwind.

Bungalows start at R$740 per night.
