Vila da Santa Hotel Boutique & Spa is a slice of the Mediterranean luxury overlooking the turquoise waters of Ossos beach, just a 15-minute stroll from Rua das Pedras, the buzzing main street of Búzios.
Inside a 1942 fisherman’s cottage is the hotel’s reception, which features a library, a cosy fireplace and a relaxing lounge where guests can mingle.
Featuring 19 light-filled, breezy suites and a private 5-bedroom house, this stylish pousada is built around a sunny, stone-paved, floral courtyard complete with two pools, one of them heated. Wake up to breakfast outdoors in the sunny garden. Enjoy a gourmet meal in La Gare restaurant, which has live music on the weekends. Try the sea bass and banana or a hearty serve of feijoada (black bean stew).
Inside the rooms
All rooms are individually decorated, with air-conditioning, queen or king size beds with premium bedding, cable TV and minibar. Bathrooms feel elegant with marble sink tops and chrome fixtures.
There are six classic suites, which are all built around the leafy courtyard. One is wheelchair accessible, and five of them have their own private internal gardens.
There are five superior suites which are upstairs and offer views over the courtyard or the leafy park nearby. Upstairs are four spacious deluxe suites, offering views of the sea and Ossos beach.
If you’re looking for extra space, there are three premium suites which have beach views and king-size beds. Or why not treat yourself to a stay in the Master suite, which features a romantic four-poster bed, an English bathtub in the bathroom and two balconies overlooking the nearby park and the sea. Pure bliss.
The pièce de résistance is the hotel’s Secret House, which is located on the beachfront, overlooking Ossos Beach. This light, elegant home features five comfortable suites and a spacious living room opening onto a sunny terrace, overlooking the water. There’s a fully-equipped kitchen if you feel like entertaining and an exotic garden filled with plants and flowers.
During low season (Apr – Dec), classic rooms start at R$900 per night, Master rooms R$2,200 per night. During high season (mid-Dec – Mar), Classic rooms start at R$1,273 and Master rooms at R$3,159.
