If you want to stay right in the heart of the action, Pousada Vila do Mar is an ideal choice. One of Búzios‘ first hotels, this rustic enclave has been open since 1981 and is decorated in fishing village style with lots of charming timber furniture, wooden handicrafts and brightly coloured fabrics.

The pousada is just around the corner from Rua das Pedras, Búzios’ main street. Here you’ll find plenty of bars, restaurants and boutique stores. The pousada adjoins onto Gran Cine Bardot, the only cinema in Búzios, home to the city’s annual film festival.

While Vila do Mar is in the centre of town, its lush gardens help create a feeling of privacy and of being immersed in nature. Winding timber staircases and stone pathways are flanked by ferns and palm trees, leading up to the sunny pool deck, where you’ll find plenty of shady spots in which to relax.

Inside the suites at Vila do Mar

Vila do Mar offers five suites. Each one share similar décor – white walls, dark timber beams, stone or timber floors. Striking art on the walls or unique handicrafts offer welcome splashes of colour. Textured fabrics and green leaves peeking through the windows outside give rooms a feeling of being immersed in nature. But they all come with the creature comforts you’d expect, like TVs, air-conditioning and in-room safes. Some rooms have balconies, sea views and even a hammock indoors – ideal for relaxing.

During low season (Mar – Nov), Superior Double Rooms start at R$426.50, Studio with Sea View at R$471.50 per night. During high season (Dec – Mar), Superior Double Rooms start at R$603.50, Studio with Sea View at R$653.50 per night (2 night minimum).
